- Hired to train Wheelchair Accessible Taxi drivers for Byron Taxis and Limousines
- Initiated and organised major fundraising drive to increase awareness of the capabilities of people with disabilities. The drive involves a group of 30 volunteers wheel chairing from Darwin to Adelaide over a period of 4 months. Coordinated sponsorship, support teams, PR and the media.

- Presented paper on “Employment Attitudes towards People with Classified Disabilities”, ACE National Conference 1996.
- Instigated, developed and managed to fruition The Ability Project – the Disability Research, Education, Access and Mobility ( D.R.E.A.M. ) Trust and Ability Trek, promoting and establishing these concepts locally and nationally. The DREAM Trust is an organisation providing financial assistance to those individuals who have disabilities who are aspiring to become self sufficient in their lifetime. The Ability Trek is a promotional awareness project, visiting every capital city promoting the abilities of people who have disabilities and introducing the D.R.E.A.M Trust concept to the public including schools, Universities, T.A.F.E Colleges, Skill Share Centres, Disability Organisations, Government Departments, Religious Groups, Community Groups, Service Clubs, Councils, politicians and individuals
- Developed product and marketing strategy for Ability Trek memorabilia.
1990
- Established private business, Disability Advertising & Co. to promote disability services’ and products as well as support community projects
- Developed and taught course at the Travel Companion and Travel Service and established to operational status the business's working structure. Further developed Travel Companion and Travel Attendant Training Program.

- Redeveloped format of Computerised Disability Access Guide to assist architects and builders.
- Supervised computer programming of Information System for Minority Groups (originally designed for disability categorical use). Marketed in 1989.
- Invited to sit on a course assessment panel for a new course on Residential Care and Development Disability, which commenced in 1989.
- Assisted Burwood Community Aid Services to win Bi-Centenary Access Award (State Division) of twenty thousand dollars. This was an Access Awareness Program.
- Lectured Sydney University Sociology final year students on Empowerment and Disability.
- Lectured Catholic College of Education 2nd year nursing students on Living with Disability.
- Lectured University of Technology 2nd year nursing students on Living with Disability.
1987
- Conducted a Disability Access Survey for MacArthur College of Advanced Education.
- Established an advertising promotion, public relations and marketing agency, The Disability Advertising Agency and Co (DACO), specialising in disability related products and services.
- Lectured 2nd year nursing students Catholic College of Education on Living with Disability.
- Developed and taught a Travel Attendant Course and established a Travel Attendant Companion Service (first of its kind in Australia).
1986
- Instigated a travel organisation for people with disabilities, Australian Disabled Tours, developing the marketing, advertising and promotional strategies.
- Counselled in the field of sexuality and disability in private practise.
- Assisted with the development of a course for fourth year social work students about "Power and Disability", and lectured in the topics Power and Powerlessness, Organisational Power and the Integration and Assimilation of People with Disabilities into a community".
- Began writing scripts for the production for a series of tapes on disability.
- Ran a 13-week course at the MacArthur College of Advanced Education to final year Bachelor of Arts Welfare students, "Services to People with Disabilities".
- Facilitated five sessions at the Australian Institute of Administration of the University of N.S.W and continued running a consultancy concerning disability related issues.
1985
- Invitation to lecture second year nursing students at the University of New England.
- Delivered talks to children, interested groups, technical college students, librarians, psychologists etc on the various aspects of disablement, community integration and coping.
- Lectured at the Catholic Teachers College on 'Developmental Disabilities'.
- Lectured at Northern Rivers TAFE, Lismore, on Special care of children with disabilities.

- Delivered 5 day lecture series to post and undergraduates at Monash University, Department of Special Education, covering: Attitudes, Teaching Methods, Curriculum Development, Policy Making, Integration.

- Lectured at Disabled People's International Conference, Adelaide, covering: Attitudes to Ethnicity and Disability in Welfare and Work and Employment Survival. Also acted as group leader on the Awareness and Self-Development for People with Disabilities Workshop, as well as co-chairing a Media Workshop.

1983 -1984
- Employed as the Senior Policy and Placements Officer for Persons with Disabilities with the Public Service Board of N.S.W. Responsible for policy writing (area of intellectual impairment), recruiting people with disabilities for base grade clerical positions - stenographers, machine operators and typists. Raised awareness through speaking at:
1. University of N.S.W, Department of Community Medicine, Attitudes, Communication and Image of Disability
2. University of Sydney, Social Work Department, Attitudes and Needs of People with Disabilities in Education.
3. University of N.S.W, Faculty of Law, Legal Rights and Disability
4. N.S.W College of Nursing, Attitudes Towards Disability
- Adviser on employment and disability to State Departments and Authorities, and regarding Equal Employment Opportunity in relation to people with disabilities
- Presented papers to the Western Pacific Cerebral Palsy Association in Perth, in September 1983; and the National Conference on Dilemmas facing Disabled Persons in a Multi-cultural Society in Melbourne November 1983.
1983 - 1981
- Managed own business "Auspice Community Development Associates", a consultancy dealing with promotion, development, planning and counselling in the areas of health, welfare, education, rehabilitation, recreation and employment. Also developed and marketed an information system - The Living Information System - designed to assist small and large businesses and welfare organisations.
- Developed and assisted with the implementation a of Catholic Primary School media package on Disability for the Catholic Education Media Group.
- Instigated and developed the Australian Disability Research Institute, a community project (Later to be known as the Disability Research, Access, and Mobility [DREAM] Trust).
1981- 1980
- Co-ordinator of the Combined Enabling Trust of the Central Coast for the Handicapped. Team leadership, client trouble-shooter, community adviser, as well as instigator of many programs, including: -
1. The Honeycomb Transport System for People with Disabilities. (Funded in 1986).
2. Development of Volunteer Training System in regard to involving the community with the Combined Enabling Trust.
3. Planning a Community Health program specifically designed for people with disabilities to integrate with people who are non-disabled in the community.
4. Instigated the development of a special segment in the local newspaper. The segment was in the form of a centre spread appearing each month, giving insight to the public about the lives of people with disabilities.
1979 – 1978
- Invited by the then Minister for Youth and Community Services, Mr R.F Jackson, to become a foundation member of the N.S.W Advisory Council on the Handicapped.
- Founded the Consumer Information for the Disabled Resource Centre (C.I.D) and continue to be involved in various committees as an advocate of people with disabilities.
- Wrote a booklet produced by the NSW Education Department, to aid primary school children in the understanding of people with handicaps. Involvements with the Mental Health Association through the Community Rehabilitation Task Force, resulted in an integration program between people with disabilities and non-disabled people.
- Worked at the N.S.W Council of Social Services, in a voluntary capacity as Projects Officer for people classified as disabled, and helped raise validity of the Council within the consumer field/disabled community. As a result, instigated the Community Awareness [formally Rehabilitation] Task Force, for consumer awareness, education, and lobby group.
1976 - 1978
- Successfully planned and completed a handicapped children's integration holiday program, involving multi-diagnostic disabilities with non-disabled children.
- Three years course training working voluntarily for Total Care Foundation, coordinating a recreational service for young adults with classified disabilities. This involved coordinating administrative and community work as well as public relations and publicity.
1975 - 1972
- Had technical writing experience, especially on the varying aspects and ranges of disability publications: N.S.W Council of Social Services, Australian Council of Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Community Rehabilitation Task Force, State I.Y.D.P publication "Aware", "New Doctor", and numerous other newsletters.
1975 - 1970
- Worked at the Centre Industries Rehabilitation Workshop for people with multi-diagnostic disabilities, in a range of positions from manual to clerical, and in different departments. These included Public Relations, Personnel, Psychology, and recreational activities.

Media Experience
- Assisted development of audio-visual educational tapes for primary school children entitled "Why Does that Person Look Funny?" Also wrote a book by the same name for use by children aged 4-8. I have appeared on television numerous times; a major program was "A Matter of Chance" series shown on ABC television in 1981 and again in 1983. Also spoken on radio discussing the problems faced by people with disabilities and the attitudes towards them.
